The monitoring objects for a landslide include the deformation factors, the inducing factors, and the related factors.
Monitoring the deformation factors: To understand the positions of a landslide in three dimensional spaces, to estimate the sliding direction, the sliding scale, and the quantity and the depth of sliding surfaces.
Monitoring the inducing factors: Monitor the rainfall in the different positions of a landslide to understand the occurrence mechanism, the state, and the trends of a landslide.
Monitoring the related factors: The related factors include the pore water pressure, the soil moisture, and some other factors. The deformation of a landslide can not be directly reflected by the related factors; however, this monitoring method can indirectly describe the intensity of deformation and the trend of the deformation.
Auxiliary method: To construct a video monitoring system in the danger zone can form a comprehensive monitoring system for a landslide.
